Exercice to do before to hit the slope

The last thing that you want to happen to you when you go in ski vacation is to hurt yourself. This is why is really important to arrive prepare. Your level of ability doesn't matter, in every situation a healty body will have better result.

Any sport activities will help for your skiing, first your cardio will be better. The concentation will be better and more make different sport more your muscles adapt themself to the task. So multi sport person will have more chance to have good result than a person who are concentrate in only one sport. Sport like basket ball, ping pong, soccer, golf,dodge ball are pretty good sport and activities to practice to develop your accurancy skill. To sharp the movement of the hands, feet, arm with your eyes. Practice to look where you want the result not what your body is doing. Later when you will be on your ski will be used to look forward and not your feet. Your pole plan will be more effective, you look where you want to plant not looking your pole planting. Can you understand the principe, in another word is call anticipation.

Every exercice who make your heart beat going up and improve your cardio are great. The point is to put the toxin out,have a better function of the system and be ready to handle hours of skiing. If you plan to go in a ski resort which is high in altitutde that will be excellent idea to have your body in shape. Running, riding bicycle, simming and spinning will help you to have a better cardio. Of course it will not make you a better skier because you did 10 leng in the pool yesterday, but your mind and your body will have a better connection to accomplish the task. When you practice this activities concentrate yourself to your breath. It should be constant and by the nose and not the mouth. One of the sample exercice that i started to do is to walk and count how many steps in one breath I do using only my nose. More you will practice better you will be of course, it is not magic for anybody all depend of your determination and your discipline. If you do ovr 18 steps , it is pretty good, under mean you have to work harder. Later you can do it when you run, How long you can handle doing by the nose without to use your mouth at all. I'm not a good swimmer both a pretend it is not a good idea for swimming ask a pro.

Develop your balance skill will give you excellent result later when you will hit the slope. Skiing is a sport or balance, speed and adaptation. No sport will make you better than skiing to ski better, and biking to bike and etc, but again the other sport will help you to develop extra skill that you can use when you skiing, put more string to your arc. Balance activities that I like are roller blade, skating, trying to walk on a little wall beside the road, use an exercice ball and keep by balance as long as I can. Use your imagination. If you look Bode Miller (World Cup Champion) off snow training you will see that is using tools and thing that you can probably find around your house without to have to sin up in a gym. You can use wheelbarrel, baril, jumping from rock to rock beside the ocean for example, with few pieces of wood make a platform and put a longer piece on the top an try to keep your balance over. Your imagination is your limit use it.

One of the other eercice you can do is to dance, yes you read well, why? Rythm , synchronism , timing , beat as crazy it sound like some racer use to learn to dance to get that feeling of rythm and synchronisme. Doing the right move at the right time is important in skiing a late pole plant will bring your upper body back and put your balance in the back seat... if you don't know yet what is to be in the backseat of your ski I can give you the example to seating on the passenger seat of a car when the driver sleeping. You can see but you are pretty limited on your direction choice.
